Introducing the Highest Football Field in Europe at 2320 Meters Above Sea Level

At Football is Everywhere we are proud to announce the discovery of Europe’s highest located football field.

Up until this point it was widely believed that this honour belonged to the Ottmar Hitzfeld Arena in Switzerland located at 2000 meters above sea level. This was reported on by companies like the BBC and mentioned on the likes of Wikipedia, and was something we ourselves believed having visited the arena twice in the past.

It turns out many football fields around this planet are simply not well documented and that Europe’s highest located football field is not in Switzerland, but in Spain.

Europe’s new highest located football field? It’s located at the Sierra Nevada High Altitude Training Centre near Granada, Spain, at the height of 2320 meters and not only is it Europe’s highest football field but it’s also a full sized 11 v 11 field.

At Football is Everywhere we are committed to showcasing the positive impact of football around the world. Whether that is through content like this where we explore football fields around the planet, or whether through storytelling and documentary content. If you love what we do and would like to support the creation of our content on a bigger scale, we would appreciate if you bought us a coffee or two.

Big thanks to James Wahlberg for help with this discovery.
